Job Summary

 

Applicants are hereby invited to apply for the position of Senior Investment Analyst (Non-Management Grade 7)within our subsidiary, First Citizens Investment Services Limited.

Position Objective

The incumbent will be responsible for providing investment research, analytical support and investment recommendations for clients.

Key Duties and Responsibilites

  • Monitor domestic and global economic markets, developments and trends and present insights at internal committees such as RAPS and AMCO.
  • Monitor and analyze global sector trends with the view of developing sector outlooks and produce reports that conveys the sector analyses and investment recommendations.    
  • Analyze and interpret companies’ financial results with the view of assessing their credit worthiness.  Prepare detailed reports on credit risk findings.
  • Perform detailed valuation analyses using various methodologies including discounted cash flow and trading comparables for domestic companies listed on the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange (TTSE).
  • Create and maintain detailed proprietary financial models and industry databases to support the decision-making process for investment recommendations with the goal to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the recommendations.
  • Participate in training of the investment analysts.
  • Manage the workflow of the investment analysts, including the monitoring of projects to ensure timely and accurate implementation. 
  • Maintain constant coverage of industry-related news, market trends, and developments and latest company financial results and disseminate insights to clients. 
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and make recommendations for investments with regards to risk, return and suitability by analyzing investment opportunities, producing frequent and proactive recommendations to clients and coordinating meetings with Investment Managers, Wealth Managers, Investment Advisors. 
  • Prepare and author periodic publications that are investment-related and conduct internal presentations on relevant topics to help build technical capacity with the Group.
  • Author research reports to be published on First Citizens social media platforms.
  • Perform all other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned by the Manager – Investment Research.

Education and Experience

  • B.Sc. Economics/ Finance/ Accounting OR CFA Level II
  • Three (3) years progressive experience in Investment Management/ Investment Research/ Asset Management / Corporate Banking / Credit risk / Economic Research.
  • Strong analytical skills with knowledge of being able to apply these skills to global and emerging financial markets as well as the local investment environment
  • Strong report writing, presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to make professional, high quality presentations to client seminars 
  • Experience in data analysis/ statistical software or Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge
