JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent is responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts for the OECS branch. Prepares the financial reporting for the Board of Directors. Monitors and reports financial performance and variances for FCIS-OECS. Ensures annual tax returns completion and submissions, prepares tax working papers and quarterly tax payments. Ensures the full regulatory compliance with all statutory requirements for FCIS-OECS. Review of all bank reconciliations for FCIS-OECS.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis and board reports of the Company
- Prepare monthly tax computation, tax accruals and adjustment journals
- Review all weekly, bi-monthly and month end journals entries inclusive of fee and income accruals, prepayment, bank transactions and depreciation, prepared by the Accounting Assistant
- Review all bank, broker and GL recons on a weekly and monthly basis prepared by the Accounting Assistant
- Prepare quarterly tax computations for the payment of Corporation Tax, Green Fund Levy and other applicable taxes
- Prepare all interim and year end audit schedules (Internal & External Audits)
- Prepare annual tax returns and schedules
- Monitor, prepare and timely submission of all Compliance and/or Regulatory reports inclusive of quarterly and year end Financial Statements for Regulators
- Prepares interim financial statements
- Prepares quarterly notes and financial statements in audit template
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget exercise
- Review of journals and payments for Intercompany settlements
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register including annual inventory and tagging and preparation of Insurance Broker schedules of the assets
- Ensure all revenue recognition is posted in the applicable period
- Ensure all expenses are accrued in the applicable period
- Liaison with auditors, tax partners and regulators
- Ensure accounting systems are updated with annual approved budget file and all upload files are prepared and competed in a timely manner
- Preparation and review of departmental procedures
- Provide support to the Finance Manager to ensure all accounting/tax/operational issues are resolved
- Completes special projects assigned by the manager
- Maintain and file all documents and journals for Company
- Other - vault officer, bank report review, trade log review, salaries allocation
- Engages in marketing of the Group's products and services
- Responds to customers' requests, enquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, both local and foreign, in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to the manager where necessary
- Ensures internal compliance reporting (eGRC, S&P, GORC)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Completion of ACCA Level 2
- Five O Levels with a minimum of grade II in Mathematics and English
- A minimum of three years progressive accounting experience with at least two years at supervisory level
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Must be computer proficient in spreadsheet applications and relevant accounting packages
- Must have a strong team, communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication
