JOB SUMMARY


The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and making recommendations to the Manager for the granting of lines of credit based on credit worthiness and risk exposure. He/She will also be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of accounts, which includes coordinating, preparing, and submitting the annual review of the relationship, upselling the bank’s products and services, and identifying potential risk, as well as recommending the necessary remedial actions.

 


 KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Solicits and wins new business by actively marketing the Group’s products and services while ensuring the achievement of targets by interviewing prospective customers for loans while ensuring the relevant follow-up for the submission of supporting documentation, bankers’ reports, valuations, etc. for new loan proposals, as well as conducting/supervising site visits 
  • Performs in-depth complex financial analysis and financial modeling, economic, industry and other specific risk analysis of credit applications/discussion papers and prepares written credit proposals, within specified timeframes including recommendations for the structuring of facilities to meet the customers’ requirements or denial for credit consideration
  • Performs market research which is presented to the Managers for the development of Annual Business Plans, as well as the execution of the approved plans in order to achieve the assigned team targets
  • Engages actively in marketing and cross-selling the Group’s products and services to develop ‘top of mind’ relationships with clients as well as creates new business opportunities by reviewing financing requests from businesses to increase market share and achieve assigned team targets
  • Conducts regular visits to prospective and existing assigned corporate customers, to ensure that their business needs are satisfied, while developing and maintaining business relationships, increasing market share and confirming business operations
  • Interviews customers with Managers for credit facilities and bonds which also includes conducting credit enquiries via various media, while ensuring that supporting documentary requirements are met
  • Coordinates, prepares and recommends credit facilities for approval by the Manager - Deal Executions for adjudication by Group Credit Risk Management (GCRM)
  • Authorizes the payment of cheques in excess of overdraft limits as per delegated authority
  • Prepares and/or inputs data and submits confidential credit reports promptly for the attention of financial and other institutions upon request
  • Oversees the perfection of security items, which includes follow-up with Attorneys, and reviews commercial terms of legal documentation in accordance with credit approval for accuracy and completeness
  • Instructs and liaises with external bodies (Attorneys, Valuators, Insurers, other Banks etc.) in the routine operation of executing duties and perfecting securities
  • Prepares disbursement packages which include availment tickets, confirmation of perfection of collateral items, and satisfaction of conditions of lending prior to disbursement in a timely manner
  • Performs annual credit reviews (performance/stability/security/risk) and prepares related proposals for approval on a timely basis
  • Prepares and submits Classified Credit Management Reports (CCMR) to the Manager, which includes a recommended action plan for high risk accounts, Loan Loss Provisioning (LLP), Investment Reviews and other specialized reporting in a timely and accurate manner, including other quarterly and miscellaneous reports on accounts for submission to Credit Administration/Market Risk
  • Reviews and actions delinquency on overdrafts, loans and investments 
  • Recommends to management restructuring plans for non-performing accounts as well as initiates legal action
  • Oversees accounts in the absence of the Manager - Deal Executions and supports the Managers in overseeing a portfolio of loans and investments in excess of TTD 300 Million
  • Interacts and maintains working relationships, including responding to customers’ enquiries, incoming and outgoing calls both local and foreign in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to the Manager
  • Completes special projects and other related activities as assigned by the Manager - Deal Executions/Head/s - Corporate and Investment Banking Unit

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business/Economics or a related field from an accredited institution or ACCA Level II
  • Candidates must also possess a minimum of five (5) years of banking experience in Credit in a Financial/Accounting or similar environment
  • Problem-solving, analytical and strong cross-selling skills
  • Strong oral, written communication, time management and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of the Group's Software Systems, Products and Services
