Applicants are hereby invited to apply for the position of Network/Security Operations Centre (NSOC) Analyst (Non-Management Grade 6) at our Group Information and Communications Technology Department.

JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent will be responsible for providing production application, system, and network support, oversees file processing outcomes, and ensures systems administrative processing jobs are completed as scheduled including general technical duties related to operating system, database and/or application jobs.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides technical support in one (1) or more of the following: incident/problem management, integration, or systems administration Assist in implementing releases, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment
- Communicates with end-users to provide timely and accurate information and status updates Ensures adherence to quality standards, reviews project deliverables, and resolves issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met on time and within budget
- Monitor, respond, and troubleshoot alerts generated by the system and/or reported by the customer Handle escalation and coordination with business unit representatives, administrators, engineers, programmers or technical counterpart
- Prepares reviews and submits incident reporting for onward transmission Executes play book operations during recovery exercises or events
- Maintain, test, and troubleshoot operating systems and other systems software and hardware Perform root cause analysis to quickly recover from service interruptions, and to prevent recurring problems
- Monitoring and inspecting IT network systems Overseeing the safe installation of hardware and cabling systems Monitoring the performance and capacity of computer systems
- Ensures platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning with minimal direction or assistance Capacity planning, workload modelling, system maintenance/administration and diagnostic
- Provide Level 1 support for both internal and external customers Track and document issues and resolutions for reference by initiating and managing trouble tickets
- Ensure platforms/systems conform to established enterprise standards (systems management, security, operating systems, etc.) Implement changes to platforms as approved with minimal impact to the business by following enterprise standards and procedures
- Monitor operations data centre sites in accordance with established parameters Respond to out-of-tolerance conditions for all systems
- Monitor automation systems, assessing jobs are on time and correct per requirements and schedule; report any errors Monitor systems for outages and quality and report any problems to support staff
- Troubleshoot equipment faults or failures and/or assist as instructed to find cause of issue as appropriate Accomplish tasks as assigned by team leader or reporting management line
- Tracking and documenting network issues and compiling incident reports Responding to user requests and providing network guidance and technical instructions Administer system backups and network security protocols
- Track issues and relevant personnel response and communications Generate reports for management needs Produce key data for KPIs to assess, track and facilitate analysis
- Monitor and tune platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved Responsible for assisting in the testing, implementation, and support for various platforms of low complexity (hardware, operating systems, software,etc)
- Responds to customers’ requests, enquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, both local and foreign, in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to the Manager where necessary
- Completes special projects and other related activities as assigned by the Manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Candidates must possess a first degree in Computer Science or Information and Communications Technology related discipline
- Candidates must also possess a minimum of two (2) years' experience in an Information and Communications Technology environment
- Certifications from an accredited technical school in Networking, Database Management, Operating Systems and Virtual Server environment management (VMWare) will be an asset
- Knowledge of robotics, automation concepts, application, network and databases
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours including weekends and Public Holidays
