JOB SUMMARY

 

The incumbent will be responsible for building the Group’s brand and market competitiveness in Digital /Electronic Channels to capitalize on the opportunities presented by these technologies, through strategic negotiations across the group with regulators, payment associations and other ecosystem players in the industry, to develop the evolving payments infrastructure framework, including interchange pricing, aligned to our strategic positioning in the market. He/She will also be responsible for the development and implementation of the electronic/digital transacting business models across the group, to provide returns on those technology investments that exceeds established hurdle rates for investments within the group.

The incumbent will also be responsible for directing the establishment of the financial control framework for the Digital /Electronic business solutions across the group, to manage settlement risks and to maintain and monitor portfolio/ program throughput analytics for the Digital/ Electronic Channel value chain to ensure the effectiveness of the systems.

  

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Directs the establishment of the financial control framework for the Digital/Electronic business solutions across the group and manage settlement risks to maintain/monitor portfolio/program throughput analytics for the Digital/Electronic Channel value chain
  • Provides reporting to executive and board as required on the effectiveness of the digital/electronic channel strategies.
  • Provides strategic leadership for the Business Development of the Digital /Electronic Channels by leading negotiations and the structuring of complex Digital /Electronic solutions for clients, as well as, working with internal stakeholders/Business heads
  • Responsible for strategic negotiations across the group with regulators, payment associations and other ecosystem players in the industry, to develop the evolving payments infrastructure framework, including interchange pricing
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the electronic/digital transacting business models across the group, to provide returns on those technology investments that exceeds established hurdle rates for investments within the Group.
  • Responds to customers’ requests, enquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, both local and foreign, in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to Manager where necessary
  • Completes special projects and other related activities as assigned by the General Manager – Digital and Electronic Services

 

  

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Candidate must possess a First Degree and Post Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline from a reputable University or other professional qualification e.g. CIMA/ACCA from a recognized professional body and a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience with at least (5) years at a Managerial Level in Electronic Banking Settlement & Payment Reconciliation for Issuing and Acquiring Portfolios OR 
  • A First Degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience at the managerial level in Electronic Banking Settlement & Payment Reconciliation for Issuing and Acquiring Portfolios with a successful track record of performance
  • Knowledge in budgeting and finances, business analytics, electronic banking, change management and continuous transformation
  • Strong problem solving, evaluative and analytical skills
  • Proven Leadership and Managerial skills
  • Working knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements both locally and regionally
  • Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of the Group's Operating Software Systems, Products and services
