JOB SUMMARY

The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the group’s strategic & transformational initiatives as well as fostering a data literacy & data culture by leading and delivering analytics & research projects. He/She will also be responsible for leading a team of data & analytics staff; and positioning this team as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) to support other data professionals throughout the wider group. This role will provide cross-functional leadership between ICT and Lines of Business in delivering analytics solutions that are aligned to strategy.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides cross-functional leadership for the designs, execution, and distillation of research findings for strategic purposes, which includes but are not limited to executing surveys and synthesising primary and secondary research
• Executes the data strategy & road map by acting as a conduit of change with the delivery of workshops on analytics technologies, methods and techniques that broadens employees’ perspective on data, its use & value to their job function.
• Partners with management to refine and build analytics frameworks that will enhance and mature the group’s analytics capability.
• Documents and maps business processes as well as captures business rules to deepen understanding of the group’s functional areas, operations & end-end data flows.
• Oversees the development of dashboards & KPIs to drive decisions and transformational changes necessary to attain strategic outcomes articulated by the executives & strategy owners.
• Facilitates the development of data capture forms/applications that will close the gaps required for enhancing strategic reporting & KPI monitoring.
• Conducts research in support of the development & maintenance of the current Group and target business models.
• Provides research & analysis to support the development of Business Architecture artefacts such as, but not limited to: Business Capability Maturity Models, Reference Architectures, value stream best practices, and information maps.
• Provides in-depth analysis of process data that leads to improved value streams & processes.
• Utilizes knowledge of the business environment to facilitate discussions with senior management and business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ascertain both analytical & data requirements.
• Works with management to develop a data strategy & road map to strengthen data literacy across the group.
• Completes special projects and other related activities as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager
• Responds to customers' requests, enquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, both local and foreign, in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to Supervisor/Manager where necessary

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or Statistics; or an equivalent qualification in other Quantitative/ Analytical fields from an accredited institution.
• Certifications in Business Analysis, Business Analytics, Data Science, Project Management, or related fields will be considered an asset.
• A minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience in the Financial Sector with core progressive experience in quantitative and qualitative analytics within the field of Business Intelligence, Analytics, Statistics or Data Analysis. Exposure to banking and financial data would be an asset.
• Experience with querying different types of databases, using Microsoft BI Suite (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)
• Experience with analysing data using tools such as Python, R or Julia Experience with designing & building Dashboards in Excel, Power BI or Tableau Experience with elicitation of KPI requirements and implementation
