Applicants are hereby invited for the position of Solutions Support Analyst (Non-Management Grade 6) x2, at our Group Information and Communication Technology Department.

JOB SUMMARY

 

The incumbent will be responsible for support, capacity/patch management, maintenance and stability of the technological infrastructure administered on-site and off-site by the Solutions Architecture Department. He/She would also be responsible for administering operating systems; assisting in troubleshooting first and second level technical issues, keeping track of hardware warranties and inventory, assisting with general maintenance duties for databases, installation of server operating and databases and assist in planning for future expansion requirements.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Analyzes first level system problems and provides assistance with the corrective actions to ensure operational service and throughput are maintained at agreed levels upon escalation where necessary to the Solutions Support Administrator
  • Assists Solutions Support Administrator with:
    • Departmental projects to ensure compliance with project mandates
    • Patch management for operating system security patches for medium priority applications at primary, secondary and off-site locations to ensure adherence to internal security policies upon approval
    • First level system backup and restore testing to ensure compliance with business continuity policies
  • Assists with capacity management reviews on all relevant systems at primary, secondary and offsite locations and advise on areas to be addressed
  • Administers first and second level operating systems and databases to achieve the Balance Score Card standards
  • Reviews hardware warranties and updates hardware and software inventory and versions
  • Documents procedures for installation of operating systems and databases
  • Assists in gathering reports and output files for internal and external audits
  • Provides first level support for the installation and upgrade of new and/or existing non-core software systems to ensure adherence to updated versions/technologies as per vendor guidelines
  • Creates basic / intermediate scripts and forms ensuring bandwidth and browser compatibility using authorized software
  • Researches system solutions for enhancing system availability, maintenance and performance
  • Assists with the implementation of information technology security and contingency management policies, standards and guidelines and disaster recovery plans that support continuity for the Group
  • Engages in marketing of the Group’s products and services 
  • Responds to customers’ for first level request, inquiries, incoming and outgoing calls,  in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to the Supervisor/Manager where necessary
  • Updates documentation for Unit’s administration procedures for system configurations
  • Completes special projects and other delegated activities as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Candidates must possess a Degree in Computer Science or Information and Communications Technology related discipline and a minimum of one (1) year experience in an ICT related environment  OR
  • An Associate's Degree in Computer Science or Information and Communication Technology related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an ICT related environment 
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to use initiative, work independently and multi-task, to read, analyze, interpret, and use technical documents and forms
  • Analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s products and services, software platforms and operating systems: Profile and Switchware
  • Ability to maintain a detailed knowledge of generally available communications software, hardware, media services and facilities
  • Understanding of database management and data communications concepts
  • Intermediate knowledge of AIX, Linux Redhat 4.0 or higher and Windows Operating Systems
  • Candidate must be willing to work outside of normal working hours including weekends and Public Holidays
