JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent will be responsible for the origination, distribution, and syndication of financial deals for clients, as well as the development of innovative structures and competitive pricing of such deals so that it is attractive to both issuer and investor. He/she will also be responsible for contributing to the revenue targets and deals pipelines of the Capital Markets Unit.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and maintains key client and stakeholder relationships to originate new business and meet the financing needs of the clients
- Performs thorough analysis of the financial health of companies and sovereigns to determine the appropriate form of financing and pricing
- Explores opportunities for new business via networking with industry players and market makers as well as schedules meetings with prospective clients and keeps abreast of developments domestically, regionally, and globally
- Explores opportunities for repeat business by maintaining strong relationships with existing clients
- Prepares and submits all credit recommendations in a timely manner that will enable the Capital Market Unit to optimally discharge its obligations to its existing and prospective clients
- Ensures that all transaction documentation is completed and accurately reflects the terms and conditions of the financing facilities or structure, mutually agreed between the Manager/Arranger and the Issuer
- Creates and prices innovative forms of financing that are attractive to both issuer and investor and obtains internal approvals for issuance
- Coordinates with key departments such as Legal, Compliance and Governance and external parties such as lawyers and regulatory agencies to close the deal and bring the issue to market
- Develops strategies with the Head, Capital Markets for generating new business and establishing key client relationships throughout the Caribbean
- Pursues aggressive goals and targets to achieve the budgeted yearly revenue
- Ensures compliance with high ethical standards and confidentiality agreements
- Engages in marketing of the Group’s products and services
- Responds to customers’ requests, enquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, both local and foreign, in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalates to the Manager
- Performs all other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned by the Board of Directors and Senior Management relative to the function
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Candidate must possess a First degree and a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline from a reputable University or other professional qualification from a recognized professional body, e.g., CFA, CIMA, ACCA, and a minimum of seven (7) years’ progressive experience in the financial services industry, specifically in the area of merchant banking and capital markets financing, with at least five (5) of which must be at the Managerial level. OR
- A First degree and a minimum of ten (10) years of management experience in a relevant industry, with a successful track record of performance
- Knowledge of the Financial Industry's investment products and services
- Knowledge in investment management including: understanding of asset structures, analytical techniques, principles and practices of portfolio management, regulatory environment, Pension and Mutual Fund legislation
- Strong Leadership and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills with demonstrable knowledge of being able to apply these skills to the structuring and pricing of issues
- Good negotiation, networking and marketing skills
- Strong report writing, presentation and communication skills
- Knowledge of the Group’s Products and Services
