JOB SUMMARY

 

The incumbent will be responsible for the overall growth, profitability and operational performance of the Subsidiary. Charged with driving long-term profitability & growth & ensuring that the Country Office meets the highest standards of corporate governance & citizenship.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Provide leadership & guidance in the management, marketing, and provision of investment and banking services in keeping with the strategic direction and business objectives of the Subsidiary.
  • Implement general policies related to the Subsidiary established by the Board of Directors, in keeping with the strategic direction and business objectives of the Subsidiary. 
  • Develop and implement business plans & Strategy as approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Ensure organisational efficiency & effectiveness; grows revenues, provides optimal resourcing (human & capital, including IT infrastructure), ensures high levels of service delivery (internal & customer).
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships; advances & protects Country’s interests by lobbying & making representations to government, industry groups & other external parties, build relationships with local & international investment communities, adopts visible public role through public & media interactions, provide local industry leadership.
  • Manage customer relationships; maintains constant dialogue, monitor evolving needs, monitor client care audits/quality indicators/client surveys, and develop early dissatisfaction detection mechanisms.
  • Maintain active relationship with the First Citizens Board and staff  & other Country Offices; utilises Corporate expertise, prepare  reports (key performance indicators/critical issues)
  • Promote brand awareness amongst all stakeholders: employees & customers; positions as a recognised financial services leader
  • Manage human resources necessary for the efficient and professional operation of the company.
  • Guide, direct, and provide oversight for Staff on work activities, projects and programmes of the Subsidiary.
  • Manage the budget and account for variances for the efficient and professional operation of the Subsidiary.
  • Interact with third party external to the Company in the performance of the position’s function as required.
  • Manage Country risk exposure and adopt and maintain measures to mitigate and reduce risk.
  • Perform all other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned by the Board of Directors and Senior Management relative to the Function.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business related field from a reputable University or other professional qualification from a recognized professional body e.g. CFA, CIMA, ACCA and three (3) years progressive experience in banking, at least one (1) of which must be at Supervisory Level.

OR

  • Executive Diploma/Diploma and five (5) years progressive experience in banking, at least two (2) of which must be at Supervisory Level.

OR

  • GMDP Certificate and seven (7) years progressive experience in banking, at least three (3) of which must be at the Supervisory level.
