JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Senior Relationship Manager and Head – CIBU LATAM on the overall growth, profitability and operational performance of the business conducted by First Citizens Group in Central and South America, currently 10 Jurisdictions with a Loan portfolio of USD 400 Million (TTD 2.6 Billion. México, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panamá, Columbia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Brazil and Dominican Republic. He/She will be required to conduct an in-depth financial analysis of public and private financial data, market trends, and microeconomic conditions to provide management with the highest quality risk assessments, credit research, and comprehensive analyses that always guarantee risk and Profitability.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for monitoring high-risk credits and soliciting financial information by establishing a rapport and maintaining contact with CFOs and Treasurers through visits and telephone and written correspondence
- Utilizes public and proprietary information to determine underlying market trends
- Analyzes loan data, including data provided by customers, credit bureaus, and bank records on new, renewal, and existing loans to ensure loan worthiness
- Manages the risk control/reduction initiatives- Assess the market and operational risk events; Implement relevant control measures; Strong and positive daily relationship with the Credit Risk Unit
- Communicates with the Senior Relationship Manager and Head - CIBU LATAM as to underwriting requirements regarding industry outlooks and target markets
- Responsible for conducting company and industry research as needed as well as the underwriting of loan requests and annual reviews
- Serves as a consultant in the local Credit Committees and related meetings and projects
- Addresses customer inquiries/complains/queries/requests on all accounts, in a timely, efficient and professional manner, to maintain a high level of customer service, including restructuring of existing loans and lump sum payments.
- Analyzes and reviews opportunities for the business portfolios
- Interacts with current loan/credit customers, prospects, and bank lending officers
- Evaluates and recommends proper loan limits as well as monitors credit risk
- Provides analysis of customer financial statements and ensures that all data entry is accurate and complete
- Ensures that all necessary information relevant for decision-making is included in the write-up for Credit Lines, and reviews the presentation of credit lines.
- Supports and ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- Ensures that clients' financial statements are in line with the company's policies, and expresses an opinion on the financial situation of the customer
- Prepares spreadsheets, summaries, reports and opinions for the Senior Relationship Manager, Head - CIBU LATAM and Credit Risk to aid sound credit decisions on new, renewal, and existing loans
- Verifies the existence and conformity of source documents as well as the coherence of the presentation with the operations.
- Prepares reports; performs due diligence on potential product development; completes special projects/assignments and other delegated activities that may be assigned by the Head – CIBU LATAM and Senior Relationship Manager.
- Supports the exploration of new markets and jurisdictions to develop business
- Grades the risk associated with proposed loans during the underwriting process
- Discuss lending parameters such as loan structure, cash flow, collateral, character, and other relevant lending issues with the Senior Relationship Manager
- Utilizes sound credit analysis techniques to ensure a profitable business portfolio
- Undertakes online research of public records, including but not limited to county registers' databases, the Secretary of State Database, and the assessor's database, for corporate filings and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filings
- Builds and maintains a positive working relationship with the Credit Risk, peers, other units' employees and Clients, the public using principles in good customer service.
- Utilizes all available information to arrive at consistent grading of credits within his/her judgment. Determine the appropriate internal credit rating of a company or client being analyzed by performing financial and credit analysis
- Provides support for working with clients after a loan has been approved to evaluate past due accounts and manage collections
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a Business/Economics or related field from an accredited institution with a minimum of two (2) years of banking experience in Credit in a Financial/Accounting or similar environment OR
- An Associate’s degree in a Business/Economics or related field from an accredited institution with a minimum of three (3) years of banking experience in Credit in a Financial/Accounting or similar environment
- Problem solving, analytical and strong cross-selling skills
- Strong oral, written communication, time management and presentation skills
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of the Group's Software Systems, Products and Services
