JOB SUMMARY
The incumbent will be responsible for optimizing resource utilization, implementing cost-effective solutions, and ensuring efficient service delivery across all banking operations. The position oversees the development and execution of purchasing strategies, inventory management policies, and supply chain initiatives while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory requirements and risk management standards. This role serves as a crucial link between strategic planning and operational execution, ensuring all activities support the bank's business objectives while delivering best-inclass customer service. The incumbent also ensures all operations are conducted with due care, confidentiality, and integrity, adhering to the Group's policies, health and safety standards, and business continuity requirements.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Design and implement department strategy aligned with the Group’s Strategic and Operational Plans, the Group’s Procurement and Sourcing Frameworks, and other regulatory frameworks
- Lead purchasing policy development in accordance with OPR requirements
- Drive innovation and digital transformation within FC compliance boundaries
- Develop and manage strategic vendor partnerships with proper risk assessment
- Lead, coach and develop direct/indirect reports on OPR compliance requirements
- Ensure adequate staffing with regulatory compliance expertise
- Implement succession planning following banking sector requirements
- Develop and manage annual operating budget for warehouse within OPR / FC Policy guidelines
- Oversee G.L. account reconciliations per CBTT standards
- Lead system implementation projects with required control frameworks
- Design and improve purchasing workflows with risk controls
- Streamline operational processes while maintaining control environment
- Maintain purchasing policies aligned with CBTT guidelines
- Establish internal control frameworks following OPR requirements
- Implement vendor risk management framework for low risk / low value
- Monitor stock levels and turnover with required documentation
- Implement stock control measures following international inventory standards
- Build executive-level relationships with proper governance
- Report to senior management on control effectiveness
- Develop and track comprehensive KPIs including risk metrics
- Monitor budget and operational performance against controls
- Assess team productivity with compliance considerations and review service level agreements for FC policy and regulatory alignment
- Coordinate system implementations with control requirements and - Track project deliverables against compliance metrics
- Stay current with CBTT regulations and OPR requirements and attend relevant training on banking sector compliance
- Build industry networks within banking sector
- Support team professional growth in risk and compliance
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field
- Master's degree in a relevant field would be is preferred but not required
- Professional certification such as CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) is preferred. Willingness to obtain relevant certification within 1 year of employment
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain management
- At least 2-4 years of supervisory or team lead experience
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members
- Basic understanding of purchasing and inventory management principles
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, make informed decisions, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and inventory management software
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders at various levels
- Basic financial acumen, budgeting, time management, basic negotiation and organizational skills
- Project management and customer service skills
- Basic knowledge of risk management and compliance in financial institutions
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies
- Basic understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements
