Job summary

 

The incumbent will be responsible for developing, creating and executing procurement strategies for the high-value/high-cost categories in the Group’s procurement portfolio, inclusive of performing analysis and coordinating key inputs. He/She will also be responsible for implementing each category strategy at a site and market level whilst managing the localization of the category strategy, strategic sourcing activities and contract management to agreed timelines and supplier management activities.

 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Supports the Sourcing Manager in the development of the category strategy by accessing the right set of relevant knowledge sources and category expertise and market intelligence insights and creative thinking
  • Supports the Sourcing Manager to achieve the objective of sustainable procurement by integrating the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) principles when sourcing the material and services
  • Conducts supply risk assessments and contributes to the drafting of the Annual Procurement Plan and procurement strategies for the categories allocated by the Sourcing Manager
  • Executes the end-to-end tendering process on behalf of the Group
  • Develops the supplier base by identifying new and innovative global suppliers and sources of supply to support business for the defined spend categories
  • Implements procurement monitoring and performance management systems that ensures the efficient retention and retrieval of procurement records and information to enable the fulfilment of the Unit’s reporting requirements
  • Acts as a ‘change agent’ for Group Sourcing and Procurement within First Citizens, challenging the business and ensures First Citizens adheres to best procurement and commercial practice
  • Generates communication content to ensure that category specific messages (such as status, plans, compliance, and market insights) are effectively disseminated across the First Citizens Group, including the business interface organisation
  • Ensures all operations take place in accordance with First Citizens corporate policies, processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), defined governance and delegations of authority, as well as relevant legislation and regulations
  • Ensures compliance with First Citizens Health, Safety and Environment Standards and Operational Risk
  • Complies to all regulatory requirements internally and externally
  • Engages in marketing of the Bank’s products and services
  • Responds to customers’ requests, enquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, both local and foreign, in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to the Supervisor/Manager
  • Completes special projects and other related activities as assigned by the Supervisor/Manager

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • Candidates must possess a Degree in Supply Chain Management or business discipline or equivalent years of relevant experience required OR
  • A professional supply chain qualification such as CPSM, CIPS, MCIPS from a recognized professional body
  • A minimum of four (4) years relevant experience required in Strategic Sourcing and Category Management, including Supplier Contract Management expertise
  • Ability to read, analyse, interpret and report on complex documents and forms would also be required
