Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes special projects and other delegated activities as assigned by the Manager
- Assist with providing information for standard departmental reports.
- Review and provide input for risk assessments for all changes and recommend mitigation strategies to relevant stakeholders.
- Prepares customized reports based on user specification.
- Consult with Internal/external Auditors and provide evidence to ensure adherence to established QA standards for software development, application integration, and information system performance, and corresponding documentation.
- Supervise project teams during test phases and provide guidance in accordance with UAT standards and best practices to ensure project timelines are met and quality is maintained.
- Consults with stakeholders in defining their business requirements for system and application enhancements, provide recommendations to the stakeholders for new/revised procedures and best practices for existing/new systems, products or services.
- Direct and support Operational readiness planning and activities.
- Engage and effectively collaborate with developers, manage communications between vendors and end users to troubleshoot, document and track issues within the banks’ systems and applications.
- Application of knowledge and skills to effectively analyze and provide quality solutions to software bugs reported by end users.
- Co-ordinate implementation of the desired changes in accordance with established departmental procedures.
- Plans and oversees the objectives for the execution of approved projects by a team comprising of vendors, stakeholders, consistent with agreed service levels
- Identify, document and provide recommendations for Standard changes.
- Review test schedules and provide recommendations for recovery based on project impact.
- Develop, execute and maintain manual and automated testing for assigned projects and changes to successfully and consistently enable delivery of high-quality software products and services on time, on budget, and to specification.
- Facilitate/coordinate training to end users and/or support teams including information on the full range of capabilities and handling exception conditions.
- Coordinate post implementation activities for all change types in accordance with departmental standards.
- Directs and effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders in alignment with the bank’s core values, as it relates to requests; testing strategies for changes and Projects consistent with Banks business needs.
- Responds to customers’ requests, inquiries, incoming and outgoing calls, both local and foreign, in a courteous and timely manner consistent with operating standards and escalation to the Manager where necessary.
- Analyzes business requirements and statement of work for simple to complex projects by interpreting technical manuals and project documentation to align with the business strategic objectives.
- Engages in marketing of the Group’s products and services
Education and Experience
- First Degree in Computer Science or Information and/or Communications Technology or any equivalent qualification from a reputable University
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with financial/banking systems or similar environment
- One (1) or more years of software Quality Assurance experience
- Expertise in test tools and defect tracking software
- Knowledge of methods and processes used in quality assurance of software programs
- International Software Qualifications Board (ISTQB) knowledge and/or certification
- Knowledge and understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies
- Experience working independently and as a team in a collaborative environment
- Maintain flexibility to react quickly to changes in priorites or circumstances to meet the needs of the business
