JOB SUMMARY

 

The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the operational execution of the Group's vendor management function. This role leads a team responsible for vendor onboarding, contract lifecycle management, contract performance tracking, and compliance monitoring with CBTT Guidelines. Key accountabilities include maintaining the vendor database, coordinating due diligence processes, managing vendor stakeholder relationships, and ensuring effective reporting. 

 

The position drives operational efficiency through standardized processes, vendor scorecards, and systematic risk assessment, while supervising Vendor Management Officer and a dotted line to the Contract Administrator, to deliver consistent, high-quality vendor management services across the Group. 

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Lead enterprise vendor management strategy aligned to Group goals
  • Develop and maintain vendor governance framework, policies, and standards
  • Define vendor segmentation, tiering, and engagement models
  • Manage vendor contract portfolio, negotiations, and renewals
  • Standardize contract clauses, track obligations and compliance
  • Drive cost optimization and value realization across vendors
  • Lead continuous improvement and innovation with supplier
  • Implement vendor risk appetite and tolerances set by Group Risk
  • Ensure compliance with CBTT/material outsourcing requirements
  • Coordinate regulatory reporting and audit responses
  • Direct due diligence, assessments, and ongoing risk monitoring
  • Plan and execute vendor audits; track remediation to closure
  • Build KPIs and scorecards for vendor performance management
  • Run SLA monitoring, QBRs, and corrective action management
  • Own vendor lifecycle: onboarding, changes, and offboarding
  • Govern vendor master data quality and records management
  • Implement and administer vendor management systems and tools
  • Provide COE guidance, playbooks, and templates to stakeholders
  • Resolve escalations and disputes with strategic vendors
  • Manage relationships with Legal, Risk, ICT, Finance, and BUs
  • Engage C-suite and strategic vendor executives on governance
  • Prepare clear executive reports, dashboards, and insights
  • Manage budgets; track savings, benefits, and ROI delivery
  • Advance supplier diversity and ESG objectives where applicable
  • Safeguard confidentiality and data integrity in vendor records
  • Coordinate standard practices across subsidiaries and regions
  • At the supervisory level, recruit, coach, and evaluate team members
  • Lead communications and training on vendor governance and risk

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or related field from a reputable University or other professional qualification from a recognized professional body e.g. CFA, CIMA, ACCA and three (3) years progressive experience in Procurement and Vendor Management, at least one (1) of which must be at a Supervisory Level 
  • OR an Executive Diploma/Diploma and five (5) years progressive relevant experience in the related discipline, at least two (2) of which must be at a Supervisory Level 
  • OR a GMDP Certificate and seven (7) years progressive experience in the related discipline, at least three (3) of which must be at a Supervisory Level 
  • Professional Certifications/Licensures: (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, MCIPS) or another recognized professional supply chain body
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to third-party management in the financial sector
  • Knowledge of financial analysis and risk management principles
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes and technologies
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
